Hoji Cha is a calming, low caffeine brew with a smooth, nutty-caramel flavour that is gentle on the stomach. Hoji Cha is a roasted Japanese green tea that therapeutically has an abundance of antioxidants that can help to reduce inflammation. It’s a brew that you can drink every day and because it is low to no caffeine, it can be enjoyed in the evening without disrupting sleep.

Hoji Cha comes from the same green tea plant as Matcha Green but is made from roasting the leaves, giving it a warm, nutty flavour.
Hoji Cha originated in Kyoto 100 years ago and unlike traditional green teas, the roasting at high temperatures after the leaves are steamed is what destroys much of the caffeine.

Enjoy as a tea like Matcha or make as a latte with your favourite milk. Hoji Cha is incredibly versatile and as well as making delicious lattes and iced drinks, the powder can be used in baked goods and deserts – the same way as using Matcha powder.

Substitute some of the flour when baking a cake or slices or add to whipped cream or whisk Hoji Cha powder into your morning oatmeal, pancake batter or mix into yogurt.
