While herbal teas cannot change the circumstances, they may be able to help people cope with lockdowns that are having a dramatic emotional effect on many people.

What is the difference between our SLEEP tea, CALM tea, CALM WITH LAVENDER tea, STRESS HEAD tea and SERENITY tea?

The herbs I have used to formulate these blends have particular actions that are therapeutic and are
to be enjoyed.

STRES HEAD tea – Designed to help you relax and settle the nerves during stressful and traumatic times. The herbs in this tea are Hawthorn leaf (to help regulate blood pressure because when we get stressed our blood pressure rises), Siberian Ginseng and Withania (also known as Ashwagandha). Both of these herbs will calm down the adrenal glands. I added Yarrow to the blend because one of the many benefits of this herb is that it can calm a stressed tummy. A stressed tummy is different from an upset tummy from food.

CALM tea – a relaxing tea, suitable for children too. Chamomile is one of the safest and most widely used herbs and is renowned as a relaxant. It is an excellent herb for anxiety and stress. Calendula is known for its sweet honey flavour and to help calm digestive issues, Spearmint is a digestive herb to calm an upset tummy.

CALM WITH LAVENDER tea – Combining Chamomile and Calendula with Lavender and Oatstraw makes this a tea that can help with high levels of stress. Lavender is a relaxant and can help to strengthen the nervous system. Oatstraw is also a tonic for the nervous system.

SLEEP tea – Skullcap is a wonderful herb for the nervous system, helping to ease anxiety. Its action is to relax tension, at the same time revitalising and supporting the nervous system. I use it because it helps to stop the “mind chatter” that prevents people from switching off at night and to ease restlessness in children. The other 3 herbs, Chamomile, Lemon Balm and Passionflower are calming and sedative.

SERENITY tea – This is a happy tea designed to help relieve stress and tension. Vervain is an anti-stress herb and has been used for centuries to treat headaches and anxiety. It is a mood elevator like Damiana, which is referred to as the “happy hippy herb”. Damiana is a feel-good herb renowned for its anti-depressive properties. They are blended with Lemon Balm, which helps to clarify the mind and Calendula to calm digestive issues. Combining the teas to make one brew is an effective way to address your particular issues.

For some customers, adding the STRESS HEAD tea to the SLEEP tea means a more restful sleep. Adding the STRESS HEAD tea to the CALM tea or CALM WITH LAVENDER tea can help to cope with day-to-day issues. Making a brew of SERENITY tea and STRESS HEAD tea can help alleviate
depression.
